And since last year, Newman’s Traveler Beer has been trying to hook craft beer drinkers As part of its summer variety pack, Sam Adams has reintroduced Porch Rocker, a Bavarian-style golden lager spiked with a lemon extract. The Germans call such The Porch Rocker is stronger than European versions, coming in at 4.5 percent ABV. It is a light helles lager blended with lemon. While the European versions taste like what they are supposed to be – a beer blend – the Porch Rocker tastes more like a Beer nerds, rejoice! You have a week’s worth of drinking ahead of you. Next week is DC Beer Week, now in its sixth year of existence. And, if you live on Capitol Hill, you have a distinct Ice drink with Sam Adams Porch Rocker, a fruit beer with I’ve been having a love affair with Samuel Adams Porch Rocker this summer. This bottled shandy, a blend of a lighter beer and a lemon-lime carbonated beverage, has been my go-to drink this summer. I drink it by the liter.
